Drawing 40: Bathymetric Map of Qalamoun
This map shows Qalamoun's relative location and proximity to neighboring villages
A cadastral map showing the official discretization of Qalamoun in quarters. This, along with the the municipal database, was used to derive the spatial distribution and land/parcel categorization in the Qalamoun locality.
The 10m interval controur lines were reproduced from the elevations grid obtained courtesy of MAPS sarl
The slopes were also derived from the elevations grid of Qalamoun
This thematic map shows the exact locations of the corresponding entries listed in the map legend
This thematic map shows the locations at which we conducted our residential, commercial, industrial, and touristic questionnaires
Water use in Qalamoun has been divided in those categories of consumption
The Qalamoun locality has been divided into parcels/polygons representing the major consumption categories in Qalamoun
An approximate spatial distribution of people in Qalamoun showing the relative densities in various land polygons
After an elaborate estimation/projection of water demands using our questionnaire results and analogies to other localities with similar geographic, demograhic, and socioeconomic factors, water demand was divided into basic 'domestic' and additional 'added' demand representing luxurious (villas area), industrial, commercial, & touristic demands.
This pie-chart shows the ratio of basic domestic to the added demands at each consumption node
After applying parcel-specific peaking factors (function of population and predominant land use category), this map presents peak hourly demand variation throughout Qalamoun
This bar-representation illustrates the ratios of maximum domestic to peak hourly demand throughout Qalamoun
This is a normalized representation (by the overall average lcd figure) of the population in Qalamoun
Consumption nodes were allocated for each parcel/polygon to constitue the nodes of a skeletonized model of the proposed supply network
A section of the storage reservoir supplying the Qalamoun distribution network
A closeup on the North West section of the proposed water supply network showing the pipe flow directions, velocities, pressures, etc.. and the location of fire hydrants and valves
