ActiveSEEP is an AutoCAD 2002 port for 2-D groundwater seepage modeling powered by ‘LISA's finite element analysis engine. It is meant to provide a highly flexible CAD environment for the user to define his seepage problem and the corresponding finite element grid/mesh. It has been named accordingly after Microsoft's revolutionary 'ActiveX' technology, without which this simple educational product could not have been realized in the way it has.

(For more information on 'ActiveSEEP ' before downloading it, please take a look at the report submitted alongside this software application to the 'CVEV118 Computer Methods for Civil Engineering' course officials.)

-------------------- ActiveSEEP  Download --------------------

For the finite element analysis (FEA), ActiveSEEP uses 'LISA' as its core engine. Hence, you will have to start with making 'LISA' available on your computer by first downloading the necessary installation files (~13 MB) from the location specified below, installing it on your computer, and effecting the free license that permits analyzing up to 1300-node models (all functionality is supported in the free version; the restriction applies only to the number of nodes being modeled). Start with reading/following the download instructions provided at:

http://www.lisa-fet.com/download.htm

Once you have downloaded all the necessary files and made sure 'LISA' is up and running, activate the 1300 node Demo License by either reading the "Getting Started" Help file instructions in 'LISA's Help Menu, or by doing the following:

- Run the 'LISA' application from your 'Programs' in the 'Start' menu
- Select "License Editor" from the 'View' menu of the main 'LISA' window
- Enter the corresponding name with key number in the "LISA Modeler" and "LISA Fluid Dynamics" field as listed below and then click "License" to register the details:

LISA Modeler
DEMOVERSION
514222026

LISA Fluid Dynamics
DEMOVERSION
567732807

Now that you have successfully installed 'LISA', you can proceed with downloading the following
ActiveSEEP files (total of ~4MB) to your system. Start by creating/opening a directory called "ActiveSEEP" on on drive C. Click or "Save Target As..." the 5 files below and have them saved in C:\ActiveSEEP\. Make sure you do not modify or delete the specified structure later on:

• ActiveSEEP.dwg
• Help.chm
• HelpProblem.chm
• HelpMesh.chm
• HelpAnalyze.chm

The file (or drawing), ActiveSEEP.dwg, contains the embedded VBA project which will auto run the instant you open/double-click this .dwg file. Note that
ActiveSEEP runs only on the AutoCAD 2002 (or later) platform. It links to all ActiveX-enabled versions of Excel; perhaps Excel 97 or higher.
